01 / The fishing situation

THE PROBLEM.

Surface-feeding bass see a dragonfly from below. A generic bug profile, poor landing posture, or buried hook point can give away the presentation.

02 / The purpose-built response

THE CBC ANSWER.

Airstrike is arranged around a four-wing, six-leg silhouette with cast-managed wings, buoyant recovery, and an exposed upward hook for direct strike access around openings and shallow edges.

Why it works

The benefit behind the build

WHY IT WORKS.

Airstrike presents the four-wing, six-leg silhouette bass see from below. Flexible wing roots sweep during the cast, buoyancy settles the lure back into profile, and the body geometry restores its posture when pulled.

The centered, upward single-hook design keeps the point exposed with no weed guard between the strike and the hook. It is intended for openings, edges, and targeted shallow cover where the dragonfly hatch meets the surface.

Situation guide

WHEN TO THROW IT.

  • Lily-pad openings
  • Grass lines and edges
  • Shaded shallow banks
  • Calm mornings and evenings

Hook and presentation

HOW TO RIG IT.

Cast beyond the target and let the lure settle. Pause until the landing rings disappear, give it one or two short controlled twitches, then pause again and let the silhouette work.

Hook reference: Designed around a centered VMC 7317 size 2/0 open-point hook.
